CBA Youth Academy
The California Bluegrass Association held the first annual Bluegrass Camp for Kids during the Father’s Day Festival in Grass Valley in June 2013. We sold out our limit of 35 8-16 year olds for our first camp. We have changed the name of the camp to the CBA Youth Academy to reduce the confusion with the other youth programs the CBA produces for young people and are aiming for 42 8-16 year olds for 2014.
The Youth Academy will be scheduled for four full days, Wednesday through Saturday, June 11-14, 2014 on the Nevada County Fairgrounds during the 39th Annual Father’s Day Festival. The Academy will conclude with a concert on the Bluegrass Pioneer Stage at 3PM on Saturday, June 14, 2014. The $300 tuition for the four day camp will remain the same as 2013. Registration will begin on the CBA website, www.cbaontheweb.org, January 1, 2014. Adult guardians will be expected to purchase a festival ticket. A scholarship donation drive will begin now and continue through 2014. All donations are tax deductible because of our not for profit status and checks may be made out to the CBA Youth Program (memo: Youth Academy) and sent to Darby Brandli, 2106 9th Avenue, Oakland, CA 94606 (Liaison to the CBA Youth Program). We expect to fill this camp again this year so early registration is highly recommended.
